Selecting non-continuous text areas
It is possible to select segments of text in Word that are not connected to each other.
For instance, you can select a line at the top of a page, and simultaneously have a line at the bottom of the page selected, with nothing highlighted in the intervening space. You can select multiple lines, words, paragraphs, or headers throughout the entire document.
This is an excellent technique for when you need to modify alternating areas in a text without having to find, highlight, and change each one individually, which can be quite painstaking depending on the length of the document.
This technique can only be done by using the mouse together with the keyboard, as moving the cursor with the keyboard alone while you have a selection highlighted will cancel the highlight.
